FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS – 3 FAQ

1. Q1: You wrote AMD Ryzen 5 but also 11th Gen – is this Intel or AMD? And is 8GB RAM enough for my accounting work?
A: Good question. This laptop is AMD Ryzen 5 5500U / 5625U, which is AMD’s 5000 series that was released same time as Intel 11th Gen, so performance is equivalent to Intel 11th Gen i5. Many sellers write “11th Gen” to show generation, but processor is AMD Ryzen 5 – which is actually faster than Intel i5 11th Gen because it has 6 cores vs Intel 4 cores, better battery and better graphics. For RAM, 8GB is enough for QuickBooks, Tally, Excel with 20k rows, Chrome 20 tabs, Zoom – we have many accountants using 8GB without lag. If you run very heavy Excel (100k rows) or virtual machines, we can upgrade to 16GB for KSh 2,500 at our shop anytime.
2. Q2: Is this refurbished and how long will battery last? Does it have warranty?
A: Yes, this is UK-imported refurbished Grade A+ – looks like new, no dents, screen perfect. Battery health is 80-90% which gives 8-10 hours normal use (Word, browsing, YouTube). New battery would give 12 hours. Battery is replaceable – new one costs KSh 5,500. Warranty: 1 month Palace warranty covering motherboard, screen, battery, charger if fails not due to drop/water. Plus 6 months free service (we fix for free, you only pay parts if needed). We give receipt.
3. Q3: Does it have backlight keyboard, fingerprint and can I add more storage later?
A: Yes all three. It has white LED backlit keyboard – press Fn+Space to turn on, perfect for night work. It has fingerprint reader integrated in power button – login with finger in 1 second. For storage, 256GB NVMe SSD is fast, but has an extra M.2 slot free inside – you can add second SSD 512GB/1TB or even HDD. We do upgrade at shop in 10 minutes. It also has RJ45 Ethernet port for office LAN – very useful.
