HP OMEN Obelisk i5 9th Gen 6GB GPU Budget Gaming Desktop FEATURES EXPLANATIONS

1. Intel Core i5-9400 9th Gen – 6 Cores – Still Very Capable in 2026
The i5-9400 is a true 6-core CPU with no hyper-threading but still powerful for GTX 1660 Ti.
   1. 6 Cores @ 4.1GHz Turbo: In gaming, it matches i3-10100F and Ryzen 5 3500. You get 90+ FPS in Valorant, 80+ FPS in Fortnite, 70+ FPS in GTA V at 1080p High with GTX 1660 Ti. Perfect pair – no bottleneck.
   2. 65W Efficient: Runs cool in Obelisk case. Even in hot Nairobi, stays under 70C. Perfect for hostels and small offices.
   3. 9MB Cache – Fast for Office & School: Excel, QuickBooks, browsing, Zoom all run smooth. For programming, it compiles fast enough for campus projects.
   4. Upgrade Path: Supports up to 32GB RAM and RTX 2060 / RTX 3060 upgrade with same 500W PSU. You can upgrade later.
2.   NVIDIA GTX 1660 Ti 6GB – The Best 6GB GPU Under 110K
GTX 1660 Ti 6GB is 10% faster than GTX 1660 6GB and 35% faster than GTX 1650 4GB. It is still the best GPU under 110K in Kenya.
   • 6GB GDDR6 VRAM – Enough for 1080p High: Modern games at 1080p High use 4-5GB VRAM. 6GB means you can play Forza Horizon 4, GTA V, FIFA 24, Valorant, Fortnite, Apex at 1080p High-Ultra 75-100 FPS without texture issues. 4GB GPUs struggle in 2026.
   • 1536 CUDA Cores – 1080p High Gaming: GTX 1660 Ti gives 75 FPS in GTA V Ultra, 90 FPS in Fortnite Epic, 120 FPS in Valorant High, 70 FPS in Warzone Medium-High. Perfect for 75Hz monitors which most Kenyans own.
   • No Ray Tracing / No DLSS – But Still Great: GTX 1660 Ti cannot do Ray Tracing or DLSS. But at 100K budget, you don’t need Ray Tracing. You need raw FPS at 1080p High, and GTX 1660 Ti delivers.
   • NVENC Old but Usable for Streaming: Old NVENC encoder lets you stream 720p-1080p 30FPS on TikTok with some FPS loss. For serious 1080p 60FPS streaming, you need RTX 2060 or better.
3. 8GB DDR4 RAM – Entry Level – Upgrade to 16GB Recommended
   • 8GB (1x8GB) is entry-level in 2026 but enough for 1080p gaming and school.
   • Single Channel – 10% FPS Loss: Single 8GB gives 10% less FPS vs dual 8GB (2x4GB). We recommend upgrading to 16GB (2x8GB) for KSh 4,500 at Palace for 10-15% more FPS and better multitasking.
   • Supports up to 32GB: Obelisk has 2 slots, supports 2x16GB = 32GB max. For editing and heavy multitasking, 16GB is sweet spot.

4. 256GB NVMe SSD – Fast Boot – Add HDD for Storage

   • 1800MB/s Speed: Windows boots in 12 seconds, GTA V loads in 18 seconds. Much faster than HDD.
   • Only 256GB – Add 1TB HDD: 256GB is enough for Windows + 2-3 games only. We strongly recommend adding 1TB HDD for KSh 5,500 at our shop for your movies, games library, and files. We install in 10 minutes.
   • Free M.2 + HDD Bays: You have 1 free 3.5″ bay for HDD and can replace SSD with larger one later.

5. OMEN Obelisk Chassis – The Original Legend – Compact & Premium

   •

HP OMEN Obelisk i5 9th Gen 6GB GPU Budget Gaming Desktop

   • 30 Liters Compact: Slightly bigger than 25L but still compact. Fits on desk. Looks premium with tempered glass side showing components.

• • Tempered Glass Side: Shows RGB inside. Premium look vs cheap assembled cases that are plain metal.RGB Logo: Front OMEN diamond logo lights up RGB – customizable via OMEN Command Center.

1. • Good Airflow: Despite being older design, Obelisk has front intake and rear exhaust. GPU temps stay under 75C.

2. 500W 80 Plus Bronze PSU – Genuine HP

Genuine HP 500W Bronze – stable, safe. Can handle RTX 2060 / RTX 3060 upgrade later without changing PSU. Cheap assembled PCs use fake 700W that burn.

3. Wi-Fi 5 + Bluetooth 4.2 + OMEN Command Center

Wi-Fi 5 AC for internet without cable, Bluetooth 4.2 for controller, and OMEN Command Center for performance control and RGB.

WHY HP OMEN Obelisk i5 9th Gen 6GB GPU Budget Gaming DesktopIS STILL BEST UNDER 110K

1. Genuine HP OMEN for Only 95K-105K – Not Fake Assembled: At 95K-105K, you get genuine HP OMEN case, motherboard, PSU. Assembled PCs at 95K use fake cases, fake PSUs, and i5 3rd Gen disguised as 9th Gen. OMEN Obelisk is genuine.
2. 6GB VRAM vs 4GB in Assembled PCs at Same Price: Assembled PCs at 95K give you GTX 1650 4GB which struggles in 2026. Obelisk gives you GTX 1660 Ti 6GB – 35% faster and 2GB more VRAM. You can play new games at High, not Low.
3. Perfect for 75Hz Monitors – Most Common in Kenya: 90% of budget monitors are 1080p 75Hz. GTX 1660 Ti gives 75-100 FPS at High, so you fully use 75Hz. RTX 3060 at 75Hz is overkill and waste of money.
4. Best for School + Gaming Combo: i5-9400 + 8GB + 256GB SSD is perfect for school – Excel, Word, browsing, Zoom. GTX 1660 Ti is perfect for gaming after school. Best for Form 4 leaver going to campus.
5. Compact & Power Saving – 150-220W Gaming: Uses only 150-220W while gaming vs 300W for RTX 3060. Runs on 650VA UPS (KSh 5,500) and monthly electricity only KSh 200-300 for 4 hours daily gaming.
6. Easy to Upgrade – Path to RTX 3060: You can upgrade to 16GB RAM for 4.5K, add 1TB HDD for 5.5K, and later upgrade GPU to RTX 2060 / RTX 3060 without changing PSU or case. Your PC grows with you.
7. Premium Look – Not Cheap Assembled Box: Tempered glass + RGB logo looks premium in bedroom, office, lounge. Customers trust HP OMEN more than generic assembled tower with no brand.
8. Best Resale Value Under 110K: After 2 years, Obelisk with GTX 1660 Ti sells for 65K-75K. Assembled PC with GTX 1650 sells for 40K. Your money is safer.
